A Family Update

Although we do our best to intentionally slow down and enjoy this season with our boys (oh and by the way, we now have a THIRD as of 2024!), somehow life just keeps us on our toes constantly. Between buying our first home (and the many home projects that came with that), giving birth to our third child, and having the brilliant idea to get a flock of chickens to add to the menagerie... life is forever exciting!

Our boys are our biggest treasures, and we wanted to move where they had the freedom to exist more freely. We longed to give them a childhood of outdoor adventure and discovery like we had been privileged to enjoy as children. This led us to purchase a home on a nearby mountain ridge. We stayed close to my husband's job as well as my clients and hometown of Winchester, but gained a quieter lifestyle and also moved closer to our church community. The boys spend hours upon hours outside and it's amazing. We've made many exciting discoveries on the mountain from wildlife like squirrels and deer to *wilder* life like bear, snakes (including a copperhead), fox, raccoon, skunk, coyote and more! We've all learned and grown so much more than I could have imagined possible in such a short amount of time.

We've formally begun homeschooling our oldest and he is thriving. I'm so proud of him for everything he's learned already in Kindergarten and First Grade! It's hard to believe our second son will be starting Kindergarten next year as well!

Our "baby" turned 1 in July and he's the sunshine to our everyday. What a joy it is to raise these wild little boys!

I wanted to provide an update as I've neglected my online presence a bit as of late! I know so many of you are in the trenches of motherhood as well, and I'm sure you can relate. Enjoy some photos from our first year and a half on the mountain–and our first year as a family of five! Boy has the time positively flown by.

Timothy was born right here on the mountain!

(with the assistance of our beloved midwife and her nurse of course!)
